Volunteer Drivers and Drivers Mate

Location: Various Renfrewshire (Base Howwood)

Using our transit van, you will help move items between our 4 shops and our hospice building in Howwood. You will also provide support to the hospice team by collecting supplies and delivering items when required. In addition, we are looking for volunteers who can work alongside our drivers to help load and unload the van.

Duties include:

  • Driving the St Vincent’s Hospice transit van
  • Manual handling/lifting carrying bags of clothes, boxes of books and electrical items
  • Adhering to all health and safety rules and regulations
  • Collecting supplies from RAH and returning them the hospice building

 

Skills required:

  • Must be over 25 years
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Physically Fit
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

 

Time commitment:

We are looking for volunteers who can commit to working a Monday, Wednesday or Friday, 9.30 am-1.00 pm each week.

 

Training, support and benefits:

  • As a St Vincent’s Hospice volunteer you will be given a full induction when you start.
  • A staff member will support you throughout your time as a volunteer.
