Education Support

We’re really excited about creating connections with schools in Renfrewshire and North Ayrshire. Let’s figure out how we can help each other out!

There are lots of ways your school or college can fundraise for the hospice. Whether it’s making us your Charity of the Year, having a non-uniform day, rocking an inter-class team challenge, or just doing a classic cake sale – we’re all for it! We’ve got balloons, banners, and all the fundraising goodies you need. Plus, we’ll be right there with you, making sure it’s great fun and a huge success.

Our team is ready to give tailored presentations for all ages, whether it’s a full-school assembly, a smaller class, or even at the hospice in our meeting room.

We’ve got programs that fit right into the Curriculum for Excellence, and we can tweak them to match different projects like the Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Our team can swing by during school hours or after, whatever works best for you. Let’s make learning fun!

Penny Mile

Vinnie has a fun challenge for you this year!

What is the Penny Mile?
A fun fundraising challenge where pupils collect pennies and build them up to create a mile. Every coin helps support the vital work of St Vincent’s Hospice.

At St Vincent’s Hospice, we provide compassionate care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families, when they need it most. We rely on the kindness and generosity of our community to continue this important work.

How to take part 🪙

  • Collect pennies from family, friends and neighbours
  • Bring them into school
  • Add them to your school’s “Penny Mile”
  • Watch your line grow as you get closer to the goal!

Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI)

YPI is the largest independent programme of its kind in Scottish education, empowering young people to make a real difference in their communities.

Each participating school awards a £3,000 grant to a local charity, chosen and championed by students through a dynamic programme of teamwork, research, and presentation.

YPI engages an entire year group, helping students build confidence, develop key skills, and gain a deeper understanding of social issues. Through this hands-on experience, young people connect with local charities and play a direct role in supporting causes that matter to them.

More than just a programme, YPI is a powerful way to raise awareness, inspire action, and put funding decisions into the hands of the next generation.
