St Vincent’s Hospice is delighted to announce that, following a four-week refurbishment project, our Inpatient Unit (IPU) has now reopened, and we are once again welcoming patients into our refreshed and enhanced space.
This vital project has been made possible thanks to the generosity of our funders, including Coldstones Charitable Trust, The Haydon Kirkwood Charitable Trust, and Society of St. Vincent’s De Paul’s Special Works Conference, alongside the incredible support of our local community. Their kindness and generosity ensure we can continue to provide the highest standards of care to those who need it most.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the contractors and suppliers who helped bring this project to life: Lochlie Construction Group, Lawrie (Furnishing) Ltd, A.A.D. Joinery Ltd, and ESP Security Systems (Scotland) Limited. Their expertise and dedication have played a crucial role in creating a refreshed and improved space for patients, families, and staff.
The refurbishment has included enhanced patient rooms, updated bathrooms, refreshed furnishings, and the installation of energy-efficient LED lighting to improve comfort and sustainability. These improvements ensure a more peaceful and accessible environment for those in our care.
A special thank you also goes to our hospice staff team, who have worked tirelessly throughout the refurbishment period to ensure continuity of care and a smooth transition back into the improved unit. Their dedication and commitment are at the heart of everything we do.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received from our funders, suppliers, community, and staff team,” said Gillian Green, CEO of St Vincent’s Hospice. “This refurbishment will make a meaningful difference to our patients and their families, ensuring we continue to provide compassionate, high-quality care in a warm and welcoming environment.”
With our Inpatient Unit now open, we look forward to continuing to support those in our care with the dignity, comfort, and compassion they deserve.
