Furniture Donations

St Vincent’s Hospice is always in need of good quality furniture donations to sell at our basement showroom in Howwood. We offer a free furniture collection service from our local area.

Furniture Items We Love to Accept

Sofas, Suites & Footstools (upholstered items must have fire labels)

Chest of Drawers, Wardrobes, Bedside Tables

Beds with Mattresses (mattresses must have fire labels)

Small dining tables with chairs, bar stools

Riser recliner chairs, high backed chairs, wheelchairs and mobility scooters

Fridges & Freezers

Flat screen TVs, games consoles, tablets & mobile phones

Small electrical appliances (except foot spas & electric razors)

We Cannot Accept

Armchairs (that were part of a suite)

Upholstered products and soft furnishings without fire safety labels

Large sideboards and display cabinets

Large dining tables and chairs

Divan beds or bed frames without mattresses

Electric Beds

Bunk beds or cabin beds

Pianos

Washing Machines

TV Stands

Exercise Equipment e.g. Treadmills, cross trainers & exercise bikes

Cots, Moses baskets, prams and pushchairs

Dismantled flat pack furniture

Electrical items that need to be hard-wired (that is not having a plug)

Used safety items (helmets, car seats, life jackets)

We may refuse potential donations on the grounds of age, style & saleability – not just condition. Items which are stained, damaged or not in good condition will not be accepted.

Please note that all collections are down to the driver’s discretion.

I have read the information on fire labels and confirm that all upholstered furniture I wish to donate has the correct fire labels attached.

I understand that all goods need to be in good saleable condition and meet all health and safety requirements - items we can’t accept

I understand that even though a collection has been arranged, items will only be collected at the driver’s discretion

I want to Gift Aid my most recent donation and any donations I make in the future or have made in the past 4 years to- St Vincent’s Hospice. I am a UK tax payer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all of my donations in that tax year it is my responsibility to pay any difference.
The address details that you have for me are my current home address details.
If this is a personal donation, and you are a UK taxpayer the Government will give us 25p for every £1 you donate.
Please note that for your gifts to qualify for tax relief, you need to be paying 25p in Income or Capital Gains tax for every £1 you donate.
